The story
Pirate Pete
Pete is 48, and most people who know him have his name saved in their phones under something like "Pete the Hero." He's the one who shows up — with a toolkit, a ready smile, or whatever's needed — for his biker brothers, his neighbours, and anyone in his community who's struggling.
"On his bike, T-boned by a driver who ran a red light. He lost his leg below the knee that morning."
It happened on the morning of November 15, 2023. Pete was riding when a driver jumped a red light and hit him side-on. He survived, but lost his right leg below the knee. He was fitted with a basic prosthetic — enough to get by, not enough to really move the way he used to.
Pete is proud. He's built everything he has through hard work, and he's not naturally someone who asks for help. But the prosthetic foot that would give him a real range of motion — enough to work, and even to run again — comes at a real cost. His friends and family started this page because they want to stand by him and his wife, Estelle, the way he's always stood by everyone else.
Now it's our turn to show up for him.
